Yep.....feel like teddy bears....

And the teddy bears....

They are just called Koalas....they are not bears, so I am told.
All I know is, they look and feel like teddy bears.

Red Kangaroos

Hanna Barbara was WRONG!!!!!

Sorry, but Tasmainian Devils are not brown, have big mouths with lots teeth, and spin around in circles making noises.......this is what they really look like.

The 'roos...

At this park, you just pass through gates, and the kangaroos are everywhere...There were a few with joeys in their pouches, too.
These are the Grey Kangaroos.

Bilbies

These little guys are cute......would be the same as our rabbits.

The animals.....

This is a two-headed lizard....the tail looks like a head, too.

Cleland Wildlife Park

This was my favorite place!!!! I could have spent all day there, and more!!!

Upside down trees??

These trees seem to defy gravity. They have soft branches that go up......these little braches are actually soft and limp if you took one from a tree.

Christie Beach

This is the beach Katherine takes to the children to most often...

More from Brighton Beach...

Brighton Beach

Another area of Adelaide......

Sharks...

One thing that I haven't hit on yet is sharks. I guess they have planes that fly over the beach areas....back and forth. But if these planes start to circle over a spot, it means they have spotted a shark (or sharks), so you get out of the water.
In these pictures, you can see dark rectangles along the water....these are shark nets, to keep them away from the beach area.

Wanna a condo?

These condo's are in Glenelg. If I remember, I believe Katherine told me that the ones facing away from the beach are about $1 million, and the ones facing the water are $2 million, but these do come with a place to park your boat!!!!!

Town Hall in Glenelg

Right next to the beach, was this beautiful building!!

Off to do more shopping in Glenelg

This is another area of Adelaide. It is one of the more popular beaches, and a wonderful shopping area.

Plants....

I saw lots of "Birds of Paradise" plants while I was there. Also, almost everyone seems to either have a lemon, or orange tree in their yard.

Awesome Signs!!!

Katherine parked by these signs, and I had to take a picture of them!!
These were also in Hahndorf.

A little German town called Hahndorf

So Katherine and I went to this little German town called Hahndorf. It was a wonderful place, and I spent a lot of money there!! Lots of great little shops. One of the cutest was called Fairies In Your Garden. They had lots of garden type stuff, and this was one of their displays.

Parrots

Like we would see robins here, they have parrots. They seemed to be everywhere, and I always saw them when we took Naida to gymnastics.

Hanging tower

This jail (prison really) had hanging tower. I can't remember how many men were hanged, but one woman was for killing her husband who was a drunk and abusive.
The prisoners who were hanged are buried on the grounds along the walls. You can walk down the area where they are.
In the tower, you can see that the floor drops out.

I got arrested!!

Here is my mug shot.....

This is the recreation area for the male inmates.

These drawings were done by an inmate.

I went to jail...kind of

So I went to the Adelaide Gaol (Jail). It closed in '86.
It used to house both men and women. There is a lot of really neat history there. I am very glad Katherine took me there.

Little Penguins of Granite Island

Although I didn't get to see any, they do live there. During the day they are out searching for food in the water, and then at dusk, they come back.

Antarctica that way.

Where I am pointing it towards Antarctica.....this is the last piece of land until you hit it!!!

Katherine and me

Funny...I don't have a picture of David...probably because he took my pictures whenever he was out with us.....sorry, David.
